Theme Parks take different business approach during crisis -Coronavirus closures and updates.

Due to the pandemic in Central Florida is it know that all Theme parks are closed. Some said they will reopen in 2 weeks at their closure mid March, but the reality is that the 2 weeks has turned in a more extensive closure and different measures have been taken in every company to survive this crisis. Here is a round up of what mayor attractions have done so far nobody will reopen April 1 and there is uncertainty on when it will be safe for employees to work and guest to enjoy a vacation again.

Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World : The company has decided to extend the closure indefinitely until further notice and will continue to pay hourly employees until Apil 18, that doesn’t mean they will reopen on that date or continue to pay their employees past that date , salaried employees are uncertain of their status and everyone will wait to hear updates after April 18 to see what their pay check future will be after that,

The following statement may be attributed to a spokesperson for The Walt Disney Company:

While there is still much uncertainty with respect to the impacts of COVID-19, the safety and well-being of our guests and employees remains The Walt Disney Company’s top priority.

As a result of this unprecedented pandemic and in line with direction provided by health experts and government officials, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will remain closed until further notice.

The Walt Disney Company has been paying its cast members since the closure of the parks, and in light of this ongoing and increasingly complex crisis, we have made the decision to extend paying hourly parks and resorts cast members through April 18.

SeaWorld Parks

SeaWorld had to close over 12 parks nationwide including the ones in Orlando. They had to take drastic measures to ensure the survival of the company by leaving 90% of their staff on furlough leaving only animal caretakers and some other essential positions on schedule.

The employees will be paid through the beginning this week, after that the workers will be off without pay for an uncertain time, the Orlando-based company said Friday in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

The copany send a message to all passhoders.

As part of our continued commitment to the safety of our guests and employee Ambassadors, and in accordance with guidance from state and local officials, our theme parks will remain temporarily closed. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience.
