The award-winning BBQ of legendary Oklahoma pitmaster Joe Davidson is coming to Central Florida! Voted “Tastiest Ribs in America” by USA Today and proclaimed “the best BBQ I’ve ever eaten” by Chef Wolfgang Puck, Oklahoma Joe’s Barbecue is opening its first restaurant outside its home state at the ONE DAYTONA retail, dining and entertainment destination across from the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Latin Family Now was invited to join Operating Partner Matt Hollar and the rest of the Oklahoma Joe’s crew for a VIP Tasting of such mouth-watering menu items as signature burnt ends, slow smoked ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket and more, along with sides, dessert and adult beverages.
Specialty items include
the BarbeQulossal sandwich (sliced brisket topped with smoked provolone and fried onion rings on a Kaiser bun), a loaded BBQ smoked baked potato, and Joe’s cherry bread pudding with bourbon. A children’s menu is also available.

Oklahoma Joe’s
Barbecue was born when Joe Davidson saved up $2,000 and hand built a dozen smokers to sell at the state fair. His goal was to supplement his income as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Oklahoma State University, to pay the family bills. When the smoke cleared, and the fair was over, he had sold all 12 smokers with orders for 108 more.

The first Oklahoma Joe’s restaurant opened in Stillwater, Okla., followed shortly thereafter by the now famous Oklahoma Joe’s gas station location in Kansas City, Kan.
1998
–
Joe sold Oklahoma Joe’s Smoker Company to Charbroil.
A living legend in the global ‘cue community, Davidson has won more than 300 championship titles worldwide.
Davidson, CEO and co founder of Oklahoma Joe’s, is the only pit master to ever win the Grand Champion Overall triple crown of BBQ competitions.
Latin Family Now had the opportunity to do a tasting of this menu in a private event held at this restaurant’s partner Ace Café, in Orlando. We met the managers and sampled delicious food , baked beans, brisket, toast, burnt meat ends, coleslaw, sweet tea, some cocktails and more! The quality surpasses the menu price and the overall food taste is amazing, these people really care about barbeque and there is even options for vegetarians and those on a special diet.
As the manager said “BBQ is about comfort, quality and family”! . So we decided that we cant wait to bring the kids over to enjoy more of Daytona and Oklahoma Joes this holiday season and happy to announce that they will be opening sometime soon in Orlando!
